Abstract

The role of Urdu as a medium for research in social sciences is critical but often underestimated. This paper explores how Urdu contributes to the social sciences, addressing the advantages and challenges of conducting research in this language. It examines the unique perspectives that Urdu offers in the fields of sociology, political science, and economics, particularly in the context of South Asia. Furthermore, it discusses the barriers researchers face while utilizing Urdu for academic writing, including the lack of academic resources, standardization issues, and the influence of globalization on language. The paper aims to emphasize the importance of Urdu in enriching social science research and proposes solutions to overcome its current limitations.
