Abstract

This article explores the linguistic challenges faced by the Urdu language in the 21st century. As a major language of South Asia, Urdu has witnessed significant evolution, encountering both internal and external pressures due to global digitalization, sociopolitical changes, and shifting cultural dynamics. This study identifies and analyzes the challenges related to language preservation, standardization, and adaptation in modern communication media, education, and literature. The aim is to examine the impact of these factors on the development of Urdu language policy and the role of Urdu in contemporary society. Furthermore, the article discusses strategies for addressing these challenges and the future trajectory of Urdu in global discourse.
